Extra Virgin Tuscan Olive Oil
Our Extra Virgin Tuscan olive oil is made from 100 percent Tuscan olives. The oil has been produced exclusively from the unfiltered first cold-pressing of a mix of Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino olives hand picked from trees grown on the hills of Capalbio in the Maremma region of southern Tuscany, six miles from the Mediterranean Sea.
The olives are picked in mid-October when some olives are ripe and many are still green. The care given to the tree’s cultivation, very early picking and pressing within 12 hours at a frontoio only five minutes from the olive trees is what gives the oil it’s green color, characteristic freshness and unique intense taste.
The Extra Virgin label is permitted by the International Olive Oil Council (IOOC) only on oils whose percent of free floating acid (oleic acid) is less than .8 percent by weight. Our oil has a very very small amount of oleic acid, between .15 and .20 percent of 1 percent.
Our production is very limited, and so we are only able to import about 1,000 500/ml bottles a year, in addition to a small amount sold to restaurants and a few specialty food stores in the Los Angeles area.
On account of our limited supply we only sell directly to people we know and those who have found us by word-of-mouth.
Ordering Information
We are a small business and fill all our orders ourselves and ship by FedEx Ground. If you email us your order quantity and address we will invoice you for the olive oil and FedEx Ground insured shipping cost. Your order will be shipped from Los Angeles within three business days of receipt of your check and tracking information will be provided.
If you want to pay with a credit card using PayPal, please email us and we will send you an electronic invoice. Please note there is a 3% surcharge to cover PayPal's fee. If you live outside the U.S., the surcharge is 4%, and you have to pay using PayPal, as we cannot accept foreign checks.
